Just ran 13.5 miles this morning,I was planning on doing my usual 10 miles but felt so good that I altered my route to increase the distance. It took me just over 2 hours, it would of been a bit quicker but I stopped to help an old man to his feet after he had slipped over, he wasn't running at the time just out for a walk.Normally I wake up and go for a run without having anything to eat or drink beforehand but I had a banana (no drink) before I started and it seemed to make such a difference.
I'm trying to train for a full marathon even though i'm not signed up for any yet and have never ran further than I ran today.
My first half marathon and I managed to run it in 1hr54mins which I am so happy about. It was also my sons first half' and though he never ran more than 7 miles in training he still beat me by a couple of minutes,I loved everything about this run and feel that this will be the first off many.Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and see you all next year!
I'd just like to wish everyone good luck for next sunday. This will be my first half marathon though I have run 13 miles in training and apart from a few slight aches and pains (which i'm told are to be expected) i'm really looking forward to the run.if you spot someone who looks as if they are about to collapse (and that's at the start!) then that will be me. Have fun and let's hope the weather improves for the Great eastern.
