First reply for over a week, apologies for minimal replies and people missed.
Podds - if you are suffering from punctures, isn't there a plastic insert that you can put between the tyre and inner tube to protect ? I am sure I had them in y kid's bikes a few years ago, or would that slow you down. 60 miles is pretty impressive in my book !
Nog - good luck with the leg recuperation.
Snails - Glad the service was well received
Best wishes to all those nursing injuries and thoughts to loved ones
Number 1 daughter moved out into her first home with boyfriend this week, so have spent weekend helping them out. Most of yesterday replacing the syphon on their closely coupled toilet which wasn't working. Hate trying to remove completely rusted butterfly nuts from underneath. Am the executor for my late aunt's estate, and managed to sell her house this week also ! Now for more paperwork, but it's going in the right direction.
Running has been rubbish. Only managed 2 runs totalling 3.5 miles . Didn't do my planned 5 miler yesterday and bottled out of doing it this morning - think I am going lame ! My left leg, up by top of thigh/but, stretching down to my knee is really sore. Is this the infamous ITB ?
Spence - isn't the Dartford half hilly ? Braver than me !
M..eldy - struggle is my middle name !
Spent yesterday clearing out my Late Aunt's house while the estate agent's had it open for an 'Open House', with 16 appointments viewing. Hopefully it will worthwhile and someone will see the potential and make an offer. All this executor stuff is doing my head in !
Slowly building up - managed 4 miles at 10:20 pace. Still a lot to do but plenty of time (hopefully) to get it right before July.
I have only been in this thread for the last couple of weeks and have not been able to log in for the last few days, so forgive me for being a little out of touch with everybody. It does seem that some of the posters are having some tough times, so to all of you out there, keep your chin up and try to be positive and I hope everything works out well for you.
Didn't go for my planned run on friday and saturday because of pollution and hay fever (well that's my excuse anyway) ! So I went for a 3 mile run this morning, through my local park and up around the lakes in the adjourning country park - beautiful day and scenery. Got a lot to do if I am going to make my 10K target in July.
I promise to start reading back through the posts and start asking questions on everyone's well being, just a bit lazy at the moment .
Linda - welcome, I too am new and have only just come on board in the past week.
I am currently the executor on my late aunt's will and have been going through left belongings. I found some old photos which included me at about 6/7 years old, sitting down holding a monkey. I put it as my facebook profile picture and received a mail from an old friend stating how often he has seen pictures of people from our generation (I am 54) holding monkeys and looking uncomfortable ! Sure enough I later received messages from other friends agreeing and posting their own pictures with monkeys. Probably good for the monkeys now that they are better looked after and not subjected to being dressed up and pimped out for pictures, but just shows how times have changed over the years.
