Bloody well done to everyone that completed the Coniston Marathon & mini marathon. I pulled out prior to the day due to injury but I was running round like a loon cheering on Team Rocktart Runners. Brilliant stuff and a great weekend too. See you all in Keswick xxx

I was in the 30 plus runners that went wrong too. More frustrating as I was in for a 2nd LV50 place with my pacing for the race. I'm recovering from injury last year in October and have been training really carefully and so looking forward to this race. My fellow runner and I decided when we got back on the road with the other runners to do the course we had signed up for so took to the route through the woods. I had ran this bit 4 weeks ago with my partner so knew it (ish). All the markers had been taken down!! Something that should never happen until all runners are in and accounted for! What were they thinking? We finished the route by using part memory and part following 100's of inov8 footprints. We got to the second water station and saw the containers and thought thank goodness, only to find they had been emptied ready for collection. We got our water bottles filled up at the farm. Mike and I did 15mls.
I think the really mad thing is it was happening in the Challenge race an hour earlier to one of our Team who was running in that. Also it happened at the same place last year. Really not good enough.
It will be interesting to see what kind of apology they offer. I'm a season ticket holder for these races as it was my motivation to get the injury sorted that put me out for 3mths. On Saturday my motivation was well and truly out the window!!

mmmmmmmmmmm 15mls later and fellow Club Runner and I crossed the line in last place!! We got lost but rather than run back on the road we decided to complete the course. Annoyed is an understatement!!

I did the half too. My sister, our mate Andy and I all Rocktart Runners. Great day, the marshals were amazing especially the lass at the half way point in the corner of a field. She should get a prize of Marshall of the year lol. We went to do a 2hr 25 and paced it to 2hrs 26. A pb lol as it was our 1st half. Feel good today as got home and massaged my legs to within an inch of their lives. Well done to everyone. What a great day x
