Great stuff James - to echo what others have said; that is a great long run! You should be pleased with it, don't beat yourself up over pace - it's not race day yet!
18 yesterday for me, 15 of it XC across the fields. I messed up my gel strategy and took one every 5 miles instead of every 30 (after 45 mins). Strangely I felt like I had bags more energy! It was only when I finished and took my belt off to find the extra.. 9.14m/m avg.
I'm the same LP84, trying to be careful and shift some fat before London. i've found that when I get hungry (and I know I don't need food) I drink luke warm water. It keeps it at bay and over time you get back to eating less.
Great pace James! I'm a fan of out-and-back, a downside is you limit yourself on new places to run/things to see. With my 20 coming up I'm trying to think of new places to run. My other half is a fan of just dropping me off and letting me find my way home (not sure how to take that!).
12 LSR for me yesterday, it was all XC and just over 2 miles in knee/shin deep water. My pace suffered because of it, not to mention my fairly new trainers!
I have had a niggle on the ball of my right foot for a couple of days, i think it's just wear and tear of mara training - although yesterday's ice cold river water helped a bit!
