Sound advice methinks, although I would worry about pulling a muscle or two the night before a run lol!

As a newbie runner i'm building my distance up in bits, I completed a race for life 5k in June and wanted something in between 5 and 10k to ease me in gently. Ladies, this is the perfect race to get you into running longer distances. A fantastic setting, wide roads and decent facilties. The only snag I have is that I was very surprised that the route wasn't cordened off from non-runners and DRIVERS. It felt at times you had to keep looking over your shoulder for cars/ people/ horses/ bikes etc, and no, I wasn't wearing an iPod etc. I appreciate the Great Park is open to the public but it would only have been for a couple of hours.

Overall I had a fantastic experience and can't wait to sign up for next years event, I am very lucky to live in the area and that I get to train along the Long Walk most weeks. I should have trained on the exact route though as there were some inclines that took me by surprise.... but i'll be ready for them next year ;o)

Just a question, does anyone know how long it takes for the chip results to be uploaded as it's my first event using them....
