A strip of cut-off Buff makes a great sweat-band I've found - wicks the sweat to the back of your head and keeps it out of your eyes. I've cannibalised several of them over the years, and you can cut different widths for running/under bike helmet/etc as suits...
Yes fair point Moiri, had overlooked the waterproof requirement! Having said that, Buffalo's ARE v warm even with a layer underneath, and the later jackets are much more suited to 'normal' use than the old smock-style biking tops...
Mr P - might be worth looking at Rab jackets too - tend to be at the lower end of the price range but well-made and designed IMO.
Thanks for reminder about Racekit Harvey Had a look at their site again after ur message last week and ordered a MSR titanium kettle/stove set at 4pm Thurs, arrived post-free the next morning! Pretty good service in anyones book
Try Buffalo jackets - they're Sheffield-based and do a good range - I think their Mountain Jacket has an inbuilt hood. Not sure of the website name, but just Google them. I've used their jackets for years for winter biking and they're amazingly warm. Recommended!
