I had signed up for the Brathay Windermere Marathon but am out of the UK working, it was going to be my first full marathon, as I live in the Lake District in Windermere itself it seemed quite apt so cheesed off to be missing it.
However, every cloud has a silver lining, and this situation means I am 99.9% guaranteed to be in the UK for this fab looking run so signed up for this a few days ago, can't wait. The website does a great job for all the information you could want. Actually looking forward to the bus ride. looking forward to the views of the Loch and surrounding countryside.
As with you JenJen84, I have also entered the ballot for VLM 2012, fingers crossed for all who have entered.
Look forward to seeing you all in October

SNAP, it was baking. First time I did Coniston and managed a 2:39:17, but damn the heat killed me, especially being slightly larger than your average bear.......
Absolutely brilliantly organised race!!!
The ladies in the school had every sandwich and snack you could want and they tasted great.
A perfect day out, picnics everywhere, fabulous.
Excellent folks at the water stations and it was so good to see so many youngsters helping out too. The locals were always cheering regardless where you were in the race.
I wish all the best to the guy's and girl's who struggled, hope to see you there next year.
A huge well done to everyone taking part and all the organisers. |

Fiddy Clem.......I haven't laughed that hard for a long while. It is certainly an "interesting sensation" for sure, as long as your dad doesn't keep piranas you'd be ok, LOL.
Hope the feet ease off a bit soon, it can be very frustrating for sure when all you want to do is run.
Good luck on the training yourself and see you in May. |
