It's probably as I'm in to taper for my first marathon that I'm starting to panic about the slightest thing.
But someone mentioned in another thread that Geneva is at about 400m altitude and does that effect breathing whilst running. I hadn't even given this a thought, now I'm trying every combination of words on google to find an answer. Basically will I notice any problems (I current live at about 70m).
(I'm just begging to realise why people say taper can make you a mental wreck )
Hi guys, just done my second 20 mile training run, so now officially into taper. Have to say I'm really worried now as really not sure I can do another 6 miles on the end of that.
Followed the Smart coach 16 week program so should be ok but I have felt totally drained on both my 20 milers. Based on recent 10k times the race time calculator reckons I should be racing at about 10:00 to 10:30 but on both these long runs I've done around 11:30 and been absolutely shattered.
Just hope the taper works and and I'll have more energy on the day
Hi melb2 glad to hear it's flat did my first ever 20 mile training run yesterday which I have to say was hell, but I'm hoping that was because of the hills around here. In fact at one point I think I started losing it and was getting really annoyed that the council can't build level roads ???? still I did it so hopefully that means with another 3 weeks training and a couple of weeks taper I might just get around.
How's everyones training going, did a 10K race today with a PB so happy about that, which is good as I did my first 18mile last weekend and felt really drained and down at the thought of another 8 miles on top of that, but as normal with running I'm up again this week, My first every 20 mile training run planned for next sunday
