It's very flat, two laps (they also run a half on the same day) A scenic finish along the front (full marathoners get to do that bit twice!), lots of members of the public supporting/gawking at these strange people who choose to run all that way!
Very friendly team organising, enthusiastic marshalls, and not expensive to enter.
No I'm not anything to do with the organisers, just believe that this race deserves to be promoted a sfriendly, welcoming and open to all levels.
I am considering this, just completed my first ultra (The Wall 2 dayer) and after having sworn that I wouldn't do another, have now decided that whilst I'm able to, why not! I'm from the area but moved away a long time ago, so thought this might be a nice way to re-aquaint myself with the sea wall.
Yes I'm not good in the heat, and decided to take a day off today after a disastrous 20 yesterday. Starting to worry that I am not going to be ready.....thank goodness I am doing the 2 dayer, would be completely stressed out if I was attempting it all in one go.
I think you'll find that although you have one major pitstop on day one at which you are provided with food, you also have checkpoints at which you can top up your water. There is information on the website about checkpoints/pitstops and what you can expect at them. I believe the money comes in handy for ice-creams on the way.....
