Chili - Thanks for the kind words! I'm the oldest in my department and some of my colleagues always look like they are in a fashion show. I was a bit worried about what to wear. Hope you are having fun on your holidays.
Managed a 7.5 miler yesterday after work. (Was still 30C though.)
Our new telly has finally been set up. (We actually bought it 2 weeks ago but it didn't work. The shop said they would get it fixed but we insisted we wanted it replaced as we had only just bought it, but they refused. Hubby went to the consumer rights place and they instructed the shop to replace it.) Our other TV was very old and we had to wait half an hour for it to 'warm up' every night! We aren't particularly TV addicts but we all love films.
Water has been cut off today though for 24 hours while they do work on the pipes?! Therefore couldn't face the fitness room and not being able to shower afterwards. (Fitness room has no water either.) Gosh it's like living in a developing country...
Well done on all your runs: (DJ - great first park run, Chili - sounds like an interesting course, Franny - still mega speedy! AF - can't stop you, even on your hols!)
And sounds like lovely holidays: (MC - some great photos too).
I've had a busy week. Mon-Thurs lots of seminars and a good bit of training: swims and fitness room. Friday, our school took us to Çira??an Palace for brunch which was very special. It's a nice way to butter us up for the year of hard work ahead! Saturday morning I did a 15 miler. Struggled a bit and I was very slow but pleased with myself anyway. Hubby was away hunting this weekend as the quail season opened. His group of 14 friends shot 58 quails and they managed to eat them all for supper...
Daughter has a friend over for a sleepover and they are camping in the garden. Hope they keep the zip closed or they'll be eaten alive by the mozzies. Anyway, better start my ironing.
MC - Glad you are enjoying your holiday and the knees are holding up.
Franny - hope park run was fun and you managed a speedy time.
DJ - Glad to hear your cat is feeling a bit better. Hope you got out for a run yesterday or today.
Hi everybody else!
Well, I got up extra early so I could get a long run in before it got too hot and I managed 13.5 miles. The longest run for me in a very long while. Then I took the kids to an open air pool for some fun in the sun. Five hours later we came home to a huge bunch of flowers from hubby as it's our 17th anniversary today (and to make up for no birthday present!). He's also taking me to the cinema tonight if we can find a good film, so I suppose he is forgiven. Just hope I can stay awake after my busy day.
Hope you are all having a nice weekend. It's bloomin hot here......
For some reason we have no internet at home so this is just a quickie from work.
Legs - Welcome! Nice to have a new face/pair of legs on the thread. Are you a guy or a gal?
DJ - Hope your cat feels better soon and you have the opportunity for a run today. Thanks for the tune!
MC - It's nice when the kids are kind to each other. Really want to see the holiday photos but my school blocks facebook so I'll have to wait until the internet is working at home.
Chili - Very well done on your 100th park run and Smidge's first 5Km. Great achievement for a little 'un!
Hi Franny, AF, Ecky and all!
Well I managed a 2 hour hilly but slow run before school yesterday. Longest run for a long time but I didn't take my garmin so I don't know how far it was. Legs were aching all day afterwards...... Back at school now for seminars, complete waste of time but it does improve my Turkish. Going to the fitness room this evening.
