| I have a parking space at a car park near the Holiday Inn, so not far from the Madjeski. Does anyone know if my supporters will then be able to get on a shuttle bus and go back into central Reading to go shopping while I am running? |

When did this race change to the second half of the half-marathon route??? I did this a few years ago and it was the first half of the half-marathon route, which was great. The only reason for doing this race is to avoid "the hill". I am really disappointed now to see that it has now changed and am seriously considering not doing it, as I entered it thinking it was a flat 10k |

| Intermanaut, you obviously think that all complementary therapies have no value and nothing would convince you otherwise, but acupuncture is an accepted worthwhile treatment used by most physios, and it has taken only a few treatments to help thimgs along in my case. I have my own doubts about reiki, but i say it again, any treatment that relaxes you is going to help, alongside everything else. |

Glad to hear that you have been told to avoid ice as no physio told me that, but I worked it out for myself. Have you tried acupuncture? Some of them use heat treatment with the acupuncture, which seems to have really helped me. I have been advised to keep running and doing all the other exercise that I do as it helps to keep up the blood flow to the area. But sports massage and ultrasound with all the stretching and exercise should do the trick. Good luck |

| Yep, I have seen a podiatrist and have had orthotics and yes, I do pronate on one side and supinate on the other, but not to a huge extent. But I disagree that the complementary therapies haven't been successful, although it's difficult to say which one works the best, but that is in the nature of "complementary", they work alongside everything else. The only thing I think that was aggravating it was over-enthusiastic ice treatment, and I have to confess that that is entirely my own treatment! |
