I did this race two years ago. The food at checkpoints is limited in choice but plentiful in quantity - lots of bananas and biscuits.

It's a great race, but your navigation skills will be tested. My limited nav skills meant I ran about two miles extra, and it would have been more had I not teamed up with a good mapreader about halfway.

Stopping to look at the mapbook actually helped in a way, as it enforced a break. I did it in just over 11 hrs - I was hoping for less (10-ish), but with the extra miles, and the terrain, I was happy with 11 hrs.

Ruth - I'm in Crouch End if you want the 2010 mapbook - although the course does change each year to some extent. It looks very straightforward on a map, but when you're in the middle of a golf course in Kent with three groups of runners heading in three different directions, it becomes a bit more tricky!

Phone call from the bike shop today. The new bike I was picking up this week won't be ready till May - due to Cannondale screwing up orders!

Anyone know of a likely supplier for a CAAD10 105 in 56cm . I've tried a few suppliers but all have the same story.

I think you're right, but I'm committed for a few weeks at least.

Just got to the end of my week 4. It was a rest week, but I've been roped into playing 5 a side once a week, and managed to get injured this week.
Internet self diagnosis tells me that it's intercostal muscle strain, so yesterday's bike ride was fine, today's run sore but manageable, but swimming this week might not be too much fun!

I'm sure I'd be better off overall skipping swimming for a few sessions, but it's the discipline I need most practice in!

Hello All
I'm doing Norseman in early August this year, so have just finished week 3 of my training plan (30 weeker). Reasonably confident with the bike and run, but need to do a lot of work on my swimming......
