Thanks Yvonne, we've never been to a Greek island at all so a new experience for us. Looking forward to it and some sunshine (not too much though I hope).

The vicar - we're staying at Chania a fishing port.

already read about the gorge which we were going to walk rather than run due to heat and i think it takes a long time to walk anyway doesn't it?

thanks for everyones ideas!

Hi Yvonne,

no not Brighton next year, but I am doing the Jersey one in October, so June is an 'easy' month for me with reduced running then the build up from July. Just got the local HM at the beginning of June to deal with.....fortunately my children although at home are grown up and my OH is very used to me running, but he does other activities so it seems to work ok -a bit of give adn take.

When will you start serious training for Brighton - Dec/Jan time?

I can't decide whether to do the GSR again this year - done it for the last 2 years and it's nice to get away and run but it'll only be about 3 weeks after the marathon not sure how my legs will feel. Haven't done a marathon for 20 years since this year and now I'm doing two! Must be my age....

Don't stick a fork in an electric socket either.

Thanks Yvonne and I understand where you are coming from! I just like to run somewhere different! I went and did some voluntary work for the National Trust for Scotland last year and ran in Killin - it was fantastic! I saw deer and red squirrels (we have them here as well mind), but it was lovely just to run and look at different scenery. The mountains were stunning

Thanks also SB -  I always feel we are extra safe in Jersey, so I always feel a bit more wary of running anywhere else. Here - I would run anywhere and anytime day or night, not sure I would do that in Crete (or England actually?). Was thinking of going out about 7.00?

I aim to do lots of swimming/snorkelling etc as well with OH so it will be a rest of sorts!
