Just at Amsterdam airport after a few days sightseeing in Berlin. I really enjoyed the run and completed it in 4.05 but on my Garmin it says I ran 27.8 miles in that time so I think un officially in can say I did the 26.2 miles in 3 55 (will check when I finally arrive home tonight). ????
Lovely week great crowd support just a bit muddly at the beginning for me, but didn't make any difference and I ran without carrying bottles which went to plan, just drank a small amount at each station, plus my own hell and some banana.
Now sadly I'm probably not running for ages as I have a 2 cm piece of 'something' in my knee plus lots of arthritic damage so GP not convinced I should be running at all let alone Berlin, but he did give me some strong painkillers to help me on the run and the past few days. Haven't read all the thread yet but will do do later today and tomorrow well done to everyone! I would dearly love to do it again, but I think that is beyond my wildest dreams. ????
I avoid fibre/roughage, and dairy the day before as well as on race day and it has helped a lot. Not easy, but plain rice and chicken, scrambled eggs, toast/bread etc are eaten the day before and porridge with almond milk on the morning plus 2 Imodium and no coffee seem to do the trick.
