Hi everyone!

Brilliant news that you all completed it!!  Especially those of you who struggled with injury, time out and not as many long runs as you'd hoped!  Just goes to show what will power can do!  Feel proud of your times even if they aren't the best - it's a huge achievement to just finish and particularly if your training didn't go to plan.

I keep smiling at some of you though and how quickly you've gone from 'never again' to 'which marathon to do next'   I didn't think it would take long before you'd be thinking about your next marathon and preparing to smash your pb's!  Might see some of you on the 2013 VLM thread when it gets going!

As others have already said, so very sad to hear about Claire Squires

Hi all, I've decided to defer until next year now so sadly won't be enjoying the support at mile 17. Sorry i forgot to update and take my name of the list. Good luck to all runners and have fun all supporters!

Well I made it around Silverstone, my first half marathon    It didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped, I guess the time was about as expected but it was just much more of a struggle than I had anticipated - not helped by the heat, I really wasn't expecting that!!

So, after a lot of thinking I have decided to defer my VLM place till next year   I think I probably could get around around this year but I know it will involve far more walking than I'd really like and I will struggle.  Although I know it will still be a great day I just know that deep down I will feel disappointed that after wanting to do it for so long that I am just 'getting round' (I know what I'm like!).  It was always going to be an outside chance of being ready in time for this year, I had originally thought I would defer it but then decided to give it a go.  Sadly I'm not as prepared as I'd like to be and don't feel confident enough that I can hit the start line feeling happy and excited!

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread though and hoping you all get there!
