| I did my first marathon 5weeks ago and although I felt as if I could run 2days later (common sense kicked in) I didn't. I left it a couple of weeks, before I started doing gentle runs, but I am still struggling and feeling de-moralised. When ever I begin to jog my calf muscles tighten up, I become breathless really quickly and my heart rate is unusually high - I'm fed up and wonder now if marathon running is for me, another problem is that the weight's going on because I can't run as much - HELP!! Will I ever be normal again!! |

| I have been running for a short while now, but have recently increased my distance and am now suffering with blisters on the tips of my toes and down the left side of my right foot. David, interested to know where you buy bodyglide - I'll try anything as I don't want to scupper my runs? Any other tips would be appreciated!! |

| I'd like to support Jim Scott - come on give us some pacers and don't just focus on the central belt, let's see some pacers in the highlands. Only in September there was the Loch Ness Marathon and as Jim says there are other events coming up in spring. |

I have recently resumed running after a lengthy break (20years!) and the old achillies problem has re-emerged. I went to a specialist running shop for my footwear, so at least I got that bit right. But now I have been advised to rest the foot for 2 weeks. Can anyone suggest the name of a good sport physio in the Highland area, and also advise where I might be able to get my running style analized. I expect that I'll have to travel to Edinburgh/Glasgow, but that's not a problem. Cheers |
