do theBupa 10k. 10,000 runners, covered (secured) baggage areas, penned starts, toilets everywhere, controlled waters stations, good medal and goodie bag all for £26. People still walking at 1k though.....
all very interesting as I was kinda thinking my heart monitor must be up the spout or something. I'm gonna experiment over the next few weeks and see if I can actually work out my MHR. Just checked my data from my local Park Run on Saturday which I completed in 22.34 and felt fine but my MHR peaked at 105% and averaged 99% - 180-190 beats per minute. Wish I hadn't dug the bloody thing out of the box now!
just started using my HR monitor and was shocked that I'm running pretty much at MHR even when training. Been running regularly for about 18 months and have steadily got quicker and run further (I like 10ks and no more at the moment) and can quite happily maintain 5 min KM speed and slightly lower. Now I'm a bit panicked when I see I'm at 105% of MHR! I'm 46 and weigh 101/2 stone but should I be worried?
