Hi all - back on it today - up to 20 in 3 hr 13 really increased confidence for big day - felt fine now recovering with glass of Christmas Devon Cider - training with friend who is preparing for Windermenre 10 in 10 - he did same 20 yesterday so slower pace suited me. Was big increase from longest of 14.5 (hilly) 2 weeks ago and Grizedale 10k night run last week. My race prep includes Cartmel 18k trail on 21/03/15 and Ulvrston Tri week before Paris - only a sprint and hopefully cross training will help. hoping going well for everybody - see you all in around 8 weeks or so
keeping the miles up just done Lancaster Canal 1/2 today 1hr 53 so happy with that - hopeing to keep this sort of mileage up to end of year make it bit easier to kick start next year - Helvelyn 15k 2 weeks time next but now - rest!! ddn't train hard enough for thiso ne and suffered - but hey - its getting the miles that counts
Evening all - not been on forum so stpping by to say Hi - hope your training is going well - although it is a little early. I recovering from Fleetwood sprint Tri yesterday - and now looking forward to Conniston Trail coming up, Lancaster Canal 1/2 marathon, Helvelyn Trail, Wesham 10k and Preson 10 mile for rest of year.
Next year 5 weeks after paris I know find myself in Windermere - a friend has got a place in 10 in 10 and a few of us promissed to run with him last day - hoping i can manage it on back of Paris - windermere is lovely course I PBd it 2 years ago 3 hr 59 mins. 1st ever sub 4 hour marathon - so if any of you fancy it - its well worth it. On another note on Paris facebook page someone mentioned you can get away with out med cer if have UKAA lisence - any truth in this - will my England Athletics thing do as my GP wants £25 to sign a bit of paper.
Looking forward to catching up some of you in April - flights and hotel booked!
Just domne this years A race - Outlaw 1/2 iron man - and I noticed a few other saying they like the idea - its FANTASTIC - loved it 6 hr 26 but boy was it hot 45.14 for swim, T1 5.24, 3hr 14 for bike T2 2.08 and 2hr 20 for 1/2 marathon from hell - it was soooooooo hot heat totally sapped everything I had (PB 1/2 m is 1 hr 45) but such a well organised event I would thoroughly recommend it - next for me - whole month of recovery then Lakeland Trails 1/2m followed by Ullswater Olympic distance Tri. Have fun peeps!
