Hey Everyone, I have been thinking since my earlier post about ITBS at Edinburgh Marathon about posting another topic but have only just got round to it My problem of the ITBS way back in mid-June did eventually ease off. It's still not healed and as a result I'm booked in with an NHS Pediastrist to look at building up some insoles It got me thinking though as there have been some new developments Point 1: For the last month I have noticed my Plantar feeling a bit tight. In my previous message, I mentioned I had symptoms for Plantar Faciaitis way back in April. It seems to be a mild form of this that I am feeling. It's tight sometimes when walking around and when I start running it's tight only for it to ease off after a while Point 2: The right knee ITBS isn't entirely gone away but is getting there. It comes back every now and then. I've done sprinting downhill and especially with my Patt Strap its near enough there Point 3: I was on a training run yesterday and my ITB on the left leg started giving me the pains my right leg previous gave - a soreness, somewhat irritated feeling. Then the after-run pains set in of a dull ache all around the knee Point 4: Since EMF I have been on two holidays and subsequently have put on about 3kg. I'm able to run but am become disullioned with it due to all these injuries that keep popping up So, my analysis... Point 1 has been caused by a lack of support in the trainer. Evident by being able to run Liverpool HM in an older pair of trainers Point 2 is caused by Point 1. Looking way back, it all started around the same time and can be explained by possible inbalances to compensate injury Point 3 is caused by Point 2. The inbalance caused a pressure on the left leg that was abnormal and so it would eventually give Point 4 is caused by all of the above and subsequently causes a cycle of events of the heavier I am the more strain/stress goes on my legs hence Point 2 and Point 3 being made worse Do you agree? Do you think the insoles will help? Any recommendations on corrective action on what seems like two legged ITBS? LP |
