Still no running but I'm slowly getting into the swim/bike routine. Actually had a n entire lane pretty much to myself on Saturday. Have switched back to my original local pool as it's cheaper and I'm enjoying it more than the punch ups at the uber pool.
I'm still running the Bontrager tubeless system, on my last long training ride I got 6 punctures of the course of 6 hours. 3 in each wheel, the last was the most entertaining as it was front wheel and first I knew was a fountain of glue spraying up in my face as I was on the tri bars at the time!
Answer to fix all of them was to just keep pedaling and I checked when I got home and I'd dropped 20psi in each tyre due to the punctures so was sitting a 80psi in each so fine to ride on still. 3 were due to thorns 2 small flints and the 6th i have no idea.
The bike and I did need a good wash to remove all the copydex like glue from us.
I did put on new tyres after that which again wasn't that easy but its been fine for Barcelona IM bike and the following months with no issues.
Still pleased with my choice, 6 punctures no need to stop
Swam this morning and actually enjoyed it, in a public pool too! Magic must remeber this for the rest of the years sessions where the usual getting swum over/into stuck behind people not wanting to get wet hair resumes...
I must stretch as I'm hyper mobile so the amount of pressure/bend required to stretch my quads (which are the cause of the issue) would be far too much for poor ikkle knees to take. Just kneeling will have me swearing at the moment. I do get to play at being super man on the foam roller though and am becoming queen of wall sits , which again I have to do with a prop under my heels other wise I just stretch my achilles which is not the point. I should have been a contortionist not a triathlete...
My knees are still shot so no running but stomach issues are calming down now I'm on a very restricted diet. So some swimming and turbo sessions achieved and I might just be back in the game
Knees are a work in progress with fortnightly physio, tape, acupuncture and shock wave treatments.
Neither knee cap tracks properly long term bone issue, and because they're both inflamed and swollen it's worse than ever. Not sure what started it all off (can't have been Barcelona ) but as fast as it calms down I pop one again by doing something extreme like walking downstairs...
Turbo sessions are now with trainer road on virtual power, had to do one where you decrease your power but increase your cadence. Yeah right that's like trying to pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time! I think I just about got it right one try out of 5! Good fun though and that hour on the turbo flew by.
