Hello everyone - happy new year Hope you are all well! I haven't run much in 5 or 6 months but just started again last week. Brighton is 14 weeks ago so i've left it late but I'll be implementing Shades' plan as best I can! Khani
Shades that seems really unfair to pull you off a closed circuit with only one lap to go Sorry to hear about that.
Great PB Ian5.
Nice one on the 20 miler Big_G. I should have done one today too but messed up my planning and ended up doing Surrey Half instead.
Great to see Fast Koala is as fast as ever
Big_G - awesome pace Well done!
I was expecting a 1:55 at Surrey Half at a push given the 4 weeks of 13 miles and then the made rush to do more miles this week resulting in a 50+ mile week. So, I was surprised that I felt as strong as I did and was very happy to come in at 1:48:30.
I think my endurance is ok but my lungs run out of steam when pushing a bit and I felt weak in the last 3rd of the race. Need to work on that after Brighton and am looking forward a summer of training which includes speed work. I've got the application form for one of my local clubs and they do track session so that should be good.
Doing OK Shades, how about you? Running has been a bit on and off for me. I didn't do any races at all in 2015 which is disappointing. I am doing Brighton Marathon in a few weeks. First 10 weeks of training went great. However, I then missed a couple of long runs, got a chesty cough from the kids, and before you know it i did only a couple of short runs a week for 4 weeks. Still, I'll plod my way around Brighton and enjoy it and hope to continue running over the summer for an Autumn marathon.
I couldn't keep up with the thread but it's so nice to see many of the same names on here. I'm going to try and keep up with it again if that's ok. Do you all have a meetup planned for Autumn?
