Spent half of last year on this forum with another race and didn't even look for this one until tonight! Looking forward to the TP, it should be pretty fun. Keen to just get going now. Hope everyone's prep is going well. My first hundred. Can't wait! SDW50 was awesome and Centurion were amazing so feel like it's the best place to succeed. All that's left is getting our heads around three digits to the distance, eh?
I've done three events with them and woufed definitely say I'd go back. Am even thinking of doing the lulworth one in December as its slouch a nice part of the country. It is expensive, but worth it in my opinion and I don't begrudge the price at all. Very well marked out and I've never had any problems that you wouldn't find on the best of them
Just sent a cheque off today. Sent an email earlier in the week but I'm guessing I must have got the email address wrong so fingers crossed there's still a place left when my cheque arrives as I've heard a lot about this race lately so would love to get involved!
Sorry Lisa I meant the North Downs Way. My bad! I'd consider myself far from a pro as well that's for sure as I'm not terribly fast (and after seeing the new course record on the race there yesterday I feel even slower!).
There's a useful post here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/259647654139161/?fref=ts about the build up to bigger distances as well. Might be a help and very good advice (it's currently the second post down on the group sorry can't fugure out how to share just that post, let me know if you can't find it and I'll do a copy and paste jobby).
Definitely a good idea to be increasing the distance rather than the pace as that will be what you need in an ultra!
