Hi all - I’m a newbie poster, this is my first marathon and I’m really just hoping to finish under 5 hours (4h45 would be perfect). I’m in the pink pen, bib number 61337.
I’m extremely nervous about how I’m going to get from my longest distance of 21 miles (after which when I’m pretty much dead on my feet), to 26.2m (translates to almost another hour’s running at my slow pace). I’m really trying to convince myself to have faith in my training and also believe that the atmosphere and crowds will keep me going, but it’s hard not to let doubt creep in. I’ve previously done LSRs of 18, 20, 21 miles and will do my last 21 miler tomorrow morning. I guess tapering starts from there, although I have a half on the 23rd.
