| Thanks for the note about the luggage, I was just thinking cycle helmet shoes etc, nothing of that value. Great, I have entered! |

Was a nice race, wasn't in the right fram of mind to be honest, as very tired, so din't enjoy the 1st lap, but suprisingly did enjoy the 2nd one a lot more, pleased with a smidgen under 1hr 17 mins, for my 1st 10mile run for 6 months. I feel my knees may complain a bit in the morning, but overall pleased with the effort!
despite me feeling how i did, i actually liked the course, although very slippery in places, and the wind made it hard on the top of the downs. At least the rain kept off during the actual event. Marshalls were very supportive and a big thank you to them for being out in this. Hopefully onwards and upwards. |

Haven't done this one before, and as running again, after a year of bad knees, thought as its near do a race i haven't done before. Looking forward to it!
Will definitely will wrap up warm by the sounds of it, as will be a more gentle introduction to my 'racing' again, rather than going full pelt!
See you there!

| I so nearly pulled out the day before, i have been suffering from xmas with a groin and sore knees, which limited my runs up to a total of 121 miles before FLM. My last prep race was 16miles at Kingston, 3 weeks prior where i really suffered, and i wasn't able to do any more cardio for the final 3 weeks lead up. If this wasn't enough, i then went down with a throat infection the thursday before, and was on antibiotics....Decided not to defer (as i had done it twice before) and take my chance, thinking i would walk round if all else failed! took additonal ibuforen all the way round, and actually ran the whole way (albeit slowly) in just under 4.16, my slowest marathon yet, but 1st time ever i negative split!!!!!!!......I was so chuffed, paying for it now though, but the smile makes up for it still! Getting treatment for various bits, and running is of the agenda for at least 3 months...but still don't regret it! :-) |
