first tri of the year for me, and wore my pirate kit for the first time in a race, got a few 'arghhhs' which was good
I took the swim pretty easy, 11mins, then the bike was ok, although I have to admit getting off on a really steep hill as I wasn't sure my knee would get me up it. The rest of the bike route was fairly flat, which I actually find a lot harder than an undulating route, but 24K in 1:04, then the run, well I ran a bit walked a bit as my knee was hurting, but did the 5k in 35 mins, which with having to walk half of it I was pleased with. Transition times, about 3 mins in T1 (had to put a jacket on as it was cold), and T2 was apparently -23 seconds, so I think there is something wrong! Will have to wait till tomorrow to see the results on the internet to check. Pleased to have done it, but think I need to really work on eating and drinking on the bike if I am going to get round the outlaw half, nearly 4 times the distance on the bike and I am wibbling a bit
That made me lol, gettin off your bike in a sprint tri and 35 mins for a 5k, my nan could walk it faster; you still on for the full ironman next year then not. If you really are injured, everybody on here would tell you to stop until recovered, else you will be off school again costing tax payers money in supply costs and affecting pupils learning. Need to take a reality check. Choose a manageable goal and stick to it, e.g.last year you said you would start park running but then you didn't.
alex - not sure what your problem with me is, but I have RUN several half marathons
And your fastest time was only 10 mins quicker than when you walked. 'My problem' is you saying something your not e.g. even 6 wks ago saying you might do the marathon when you hadn't even run outside for months and now your 'doing' a half ironman in June and you not running or cycling outside even. Oh and you say keep saying you need to start taking a rest day and then days later you still haven't done any real exercise. A reality check is needed me thinks, if you even did a tenth of what you posted you were going to do it would be a start. Harsh but true
