Hi thanks for your reply. I started seeing a new physio at the beginning of October who immediately gave me a core stregnthing plan. I'm still doing the exercises 2/3 times per day and there's been no improvement. The pain is at its worst the days after a run, ranging from a sharp shooting pain to dull ache or lots of tingling down my shin. How long do you thing it should take for the core exercises to work?
Thanks again
I had to give in and stop running in september 2011 because of the same symptoms that you've mentioned. Pain in the lower back and hip which travels down to my shin. The MRI scan came back with a slight bulge in my lower back but the doctor said its nothing to worry about. Could it be a herniated disk that's went unnoticed?
Hi thanks a lot for the reply. Who would you suggest that I turn to next for treatment? The NHS don't seem to know what to do with me and if anything the chiropractor has made my back worse!
Thanks again
Hi everyone, I'm in desperate need of some advice so any will be greatly appreciated. I ran on a lower back/ hip injury for about 2 years until I could take no more. I stopped running September 2011 and apart from failed attempts I haven't ran since. I've seen musculoskeletal specialists, hip surgeons, a chiropractor and numerous physios. The latest asking me to work on my core strength which I have been doing for the last 6 weeks but to no avail. I've had x-rays and an MRI scan which came back with a slight bulge in my lower back but the doctor said it was nothing to worry about. Once again any advice or information would be greatly appreciated as the thought of not running again is unbearable. Thanks
