I emailed the organisers and was told that spikes were not suitable, at least for the 10K event, and that trail shoes would be best as the going was off-road with some tree roots underfoot in places. However, I do not own any trail shoes so will be doing it in my normal road shoes.
Forecast for the next few days looks to be dry so hopefully it won't get too slippery for the up- and downhill sections.
I would like to volunteer on Saturday 24th July but the web site crashes when I click the Volunteers link. I tried using the email on the front page but have not had a reply.
Perhaps someone can say whether volunteers are still needed for this run and if so what time I should arrive to help out?
