Schedule for next 8 weeks.
Every Mon to Fri ..work like crazy. Every Fri night is Fri night and drink with the boys.Sat is Fri night recovery. Until Sat night and do Fri night again.Sunday morning Oct 13 run for 3 hours, talking non-stop. Sun evening is end of weekend fun before ...work like crazy. Sunday Oct 20 run for 3.5 hours and talk non-stop. Sat Oct 26, Eastbourne 26.2. Sun Oct 27, Snowdon 26.2, Mon Oct 27, Dublin 26.2. (No work). Sun Nov 3, New York 26.2. Tues Nov 5 fly home, join Fri night Dave for 56th b'day party.Later in Nov, Leicester 26.2(Home race). Then hang shoes up til Jan '03.
Base level of physical fitness is good but have not run since New Forest 26.2.
And very little before that since April. Mental fitness is disturbing.ie good.
I do not take myself seriously and aim for the fun factor. I read what is best practice etc but just do not get adequate time to apply it. I do what works for me. And yes I have being lucky. Though I know about injury. I get into things because someone says I can't or am not good enough to do that. And then do my best. But I would not run at all if it wasn't fun. This works for me.So never ever be discouraged. Give anything a chance.
I am sure there will be lots to read after this. But what I have written is true. And the events later this month will find me struggling at the back talking non-stop to other runners.

Apologies...not quite sure how the site works. May have being better on the training area as suggested.

Not quite a beginner, and not trying to impress anyone. I just set myself certain challenges to ensure I actually get out and do something.
My training is unorthodox to say the least.
Anyone wishing to run with me at any of the events please drop me a note.

Anyone out there running the following:

Beachy Head marathon....Oct 26
Snowdon marathon........Oct 27
Dublin marathon.........Oct 28

New York.................Nov 3
Will have support out there for this one. Although they may be picking me up off the floor.

Would be nice to meet a friendly face at more than one of these races.
Fastest time to date is London 2002 with 4 hours 12. So not a boy racer but a definite finisher.

Find someone to run with and enter an event or events. One of my running friends found it difficult to run past 5 miles on a regular basis. So we started to introduce longer varied routes at the weekend (whenever possible)to benifit us all. She ran for 2.5 hours on Sunday alone because she now has the confidence. She has also covered 2 full marathons this year. She only started serious training in January. First 26.2 miles was April 7 in Paris. 2nd was the New Forest in Sept and she will finish with New York in November.
Running with friends is also a great social event. And you will motivate each other.
And of course have a target. the training schedules in the magazine are excellent. January sounds fine to me but please bear in mind I am no expert.
