My fiancees running the GNR this year - She isn't a runner by nature and is currently still on regular 1 mile training runs.
I'd be grateful if everyone could visit her justgiving page - she's running for SANDS in memory of her nephew who was stillborn last year. Any donations will be extremely appreciated no matter how small.

OPD - when I started running I picked a few races that weren't too far away. Now I seem to do the same half dozen each year with a couple different ones thrown in.
It depends on what you want to get out of each race. I think getting a medal at the end is a good incentive. I used to like T-Shirts but threw most of them away recently as they're nearly always oversized and never get used. I've done the Silverstone 10k (May) for 7 years and all that awaits you at the finish is a cup of water (or orange squash if you're quick enough). The Two Castles Run in June is always a popular choice with a wide range of abilities taking part. I've done the Hilly Challenge in Kenilworth (May) once and found it really hard - I've run in 60 races and that's the only 1 that I didn't finish.
