Harewood Forest 10km (trail) ain was to beat last years time of 44:xx... simple... err No, No and No.....
Ended up clearing up after Jnr last night after he had a heavy day at the pub... I got up and went to the race with a slightly dodgey stomach myself.... this didnt ease at all durning the race and quite simply didnt have the heart or stomach to race... struggled to 48:32 (6.34m), the run was nice enough through the bluebell wood and trails.... (23rd / 125) last year I was 7th....
Away with work for the next two days in London and Coventry.
2 steady runs today, 1st run was part with Mrs RFJ then another loop by myself, then this afternoon, as I ran out of time tis morning due to lack of sleep so slept in, went on to the trails, 13.8m for the day.
Looking forwards to a nice 10k in Harewood forest tomorrow, supporting and running another very local event... it has to be done
a very good day all round today, we had parkrun royalty at Andover today in Mr Wood and his 557 park runs, was great to chat with him on my warm up as he wanted to know the course....
It was here that I decided to race parkrun and take the HBT 5 steady later,
So back to our true course at Andover today too and a 20:05 (6:16, 6:36, 6:37 .38) and 14th so very happy with that. went back to run in with Mrs RFJ) total of 5.26m
Quick pop home, and club vest donned for the HBT 5 an off road very hilly trail race on our doorstep (3m away)
As said decided to take this steady due to tight calf (as did not want ubdue race pressure on it) loved the run and the bluebells in the woods, so nice just to take the pressure of and run to feel, still ran it in 40:23. just waiting for the results.
