Hi Neil - Getting close now and the weather is looking nice and cool for Sunday. I am looking forward to it now and hopefully am feeling pretty fit and ready and taking it easy this week. Hope things have gone as planned for you and that you have a good day on Sunday.
Hi Neil - I survived London although it was a bit too hot - the last 6 miles were very hard. I came in just after the Kenyans ... at 4.45. I have been out for a couple of runs but am taking it quite easy. I may try to do about a half this weekend but will not push it if I am not comfortable. Getting quite excited about Edinburgh now. How did it go for you and have you been running yet?
Good idea Neil - a bit of moral support will help. I pulled out of Edinburgh 2 years ago as I got offered a last minute charity place in London. Last year I went on an Easter ski trip and injured my calf (while standing still!). I rested it and restarted my training even completed my long run. Then a few days after my last long run the calf went again on a short run. I have promised my aunt who lives in Dalkeith that I will do Edinburgh and felt bad about pulling out before so I must do it this year even if I have to crawl round.
Thanks for the comments Mr P and Neil - I will probably do something similar. It will be my first time doing Edinburgh although I have entered for the last 2 years and had to pull out for various reasons.
Hi - I am running the London and Edinburgh marathons 5 weeks apart. I have trianed normally for London and would like advice on how I should prepare for Edinburgh after London. I was planning to rest for a week and pick training again for 2 weeks and then taper. Does anyone who has done this before or who is doing both this year have any suggestions about training. Any advice welcome. Thanks Sandy
