I'm a sucker for gadgets and went for an expensive roller,"Trigger Point Therapy Grid Foam Roller" but it's genius! It's like having a sports massage on my calf without having to pay repeatedly for it.
I've been running for quite a few years now and over the last couple of months I've had a recurring issue with my left calf. It keeps tightening up,and becomes quite painful, unlike my right calf which seems to be able to cope with my running. ( I say running its a steady 10 minute mile trott!) I try to go out 4 or 5 times a week, 30 minutes or so on weekdays and a longer run at the weekend
I get a sports massage on my legs every 6 weeks, or so, which usually helps for a bit. I stretch after running, though I have to admit I'm not great at that. Usually when having the legs done my left leg especially has issues with Shin Splints I've just bought a Stick to try and roll out the tension in my calf. My left foot is also impacted when my calf is tight.
It's a longshot but anyone got any ideas what could be causing it? Or any ideas how to resolve it ? Besides the obvious "change the trainers" as I've just done that last month.
This is starting to annoy me as I'm trying to train for the London Marathon and this is starting to impact me both physically and psychologicaly as I feel I'm starting to get behind with my training.
