Thanks Shark will amend my ambitions accordingly! Not received my race pack but the website suggests we should get them in the next week or we should let them know.

Didn't realise this was such a small field (only 700) but luckily entered a few months ago so got in. First road marathon in 2 1/2 years and hoping for a decent time (for me) as training is going well. Any views on whether it is a PB course - looks fairly flat on the profile.

Well done everyone for getting round.

It was my 3rd marathon and first RH. I came home in 3:45:49 which really  disappointed me for the first 24 hours as it is 97 seconds outside my best time but on reflection I am happy to have got round another course and there is always next time............

Despite the time I enjoyed the course (except the rowing lake) and thought the marshalls were excellent. It was a bit demoralising at half way as 80% of the people around veered off to finish and I just need to find a way not to die from 22-25 miles!

Thanks very much A Bolton! My marathon last year was Loch Ness which seems to be a bit worse than this one, especially the mile long hill from around 19 miles!! Looking forward to this now and I see the forecast is cloudy rising to 18C so not too hot either.

Joining the thread a bit late! Have officially entered the pre-race nerves phase with only 3 days to go.

Left knee a little sore but with only a gentle jog before Sunday hoping all will be well.

This will be my third marathon and first on this course. I've got the course map but can't find a profile/gradients anywhere. Is it flat?
