My subscription copy of Runner's World comes a little late so I missed the earlier mails but it looks though I'm alone in regretting the changes? What's up? Well the print seems smaller and harder to read (I'm MV60) There are great blocks of text without guide marks (eg pages 26 & 27, 48 & 49, 68 and 69)
Worst of all is the race diary has been my main reason for buying the thing for the last 8 years
The information given is reduced - I specifically like to know if there are showers or refreshments and what the memento is likely to be.
The size gives me a headache
I find difficulty in distinguishing the icons.
I do like the layout for "Worldly Wise" and "Redeeming Features" (Just to show I'm not actually Victor Meldrew) And it's good to have a cover pix that isn't an obvious model running in bright sunshine!
Oh well - I guess things have to change but I'm not sure I shall continue to subscribe
Enjoyed the laps but nearly gave up when I saw my time at the first two markers, PHOTOS Since some have asked I was given a card by a photographer for club members to contact about photos 0208 386 1982 0790 988 4819 Though I shouldn't think many will bother
First time I have run this - and I guess the last!
I loved the quiet streets, the absence generally of parked cars and the varied scenery but it seemed to me that it was mainly a fund-raising event and all a bit casual.
OK so they're not giving mementoes, but surely they could afford a time board at the finish and accurate KM markers?
The start was a chaos : I allowed 15 minutes from the tents with a visit to the loo as the announcer suggested.
But no announcements as to how long it might take to get there - the start road wasn't even on the distributed route map. I was very pissed off to hear the start hooter when I was still walking to the start and then having to thread through a zillion plod runners to get going.
Oh yeah - and why couldn't they give proper details of the Park and Ride Scheme. I tried to get times of buses from the internet but failed.
