Cheers HeOw. I think you're right, if I am struggling a bit I can jog walk the last 10 or so. Glad to hear that you managed the full distance a week after running 24. Good effort that.I did Manchester in April too! The harshest conditions I have ever run in. The wind and rain coming in sideways at Dunham Massey was not pleasant. Thought the support though on the day was brilliant. I have entered again for next year. Hoping for calmer weather!

Thanks HeOw. My 19.5 miler was Saturday just gone. Thats my concern, that taper not long enough. Legs feel ok at moment so am hoping plenty of sleep and rest this week will make up for the shorter than normal taper? Sensible for you not to decide until last couple of days for Liverpool. Seems a shame when there are so few marathons in the North West that they are so close together.

Hi all. First time posting on forum but have been following the thread with interest. Have entered both Chester & Liverpool the following weekend in a moment of madness. Upto today had decided I wasn't ready for Chester so was going to just run Liverpool. Have now decided I am going to run both. Ran 19.5m last Saturday so am a bit concerned my taper not long enough. Been out in the rain tonight for 3m and will probably do same on Thursday, hopefully not in rain. Thanks for all the posts and the great information on the site.
