Hi All. Crikey, been reading back. That was awesome for CC Really good going.
Loch katrine sold out in 24hrs I then had to close the half waiting list when it got to 47 and just closed the 10k waiting list as it is now over 40 too. The marathon waiting list has got 37 on it.
Did I say I am in the WHW? And signed up for G24 again. Hoping to crack 100 miles but everyone says I won't after doing the WHW. Now there's a challenge. A bit like a red rag to a bull
I have also comitted to the NorthPole. Not quite sure how I am funding it. I have a search out for corporate sponsors and a crowd funding project running (rather unsuccessfully at the moment ). A friend who is a harpist is kindly setting up a concert to fundrasie for me. It will be on the afternoon of Sunday 28th March in the village hall in Killearn. Will announce times and tickets prices and how to get shortly.
I am still looking for a few marshals for LK so let me know if you are interested.
It is odd. This year I have mainly men volunteering. Previous year is has been mostly women. Races onthe other hand have shaped up contrary to the norm. More women than men in both the half and 10k and a decent number in the marathon too.
My training is behind schedule due to being very lazy over december and christmas, then getting a niggle, a cold and the weather not helping.
Forgot to say an doing the Fling again, just 2 weeks after the North Pole. That shoudl be interesting
Belated happy Christmas to one and all. I for one love it , even though I am landed with the oldies and the cooking. At least it is usually only for 7. Slight blip though when my father in law fell in Glasgow city centre on mad Friday. He had been at the GFT. Waited 2.5 hours for an ambulance which he shared with a drunk woman . Mr FFB and I caught up with him at the Royal and eventually got him home for midnight. By the time we were called to help we had had a couple of glasses of wine so had to rely on train and feet and miraculously managed to flag a cab down just outside the Royal to get us home. He has broken his arm in 2 places including the ball, so goes in tomorrow to have a couple of pins put in. Apart from that we have had a good few days, although a sigh of relief went out when my mum departed yesterday.
Back to the running. I have been very lazy but will need to get myself organised and into some major training now. Still managed to clock over 2k miles for my year.
So, got a WHW place My 2015 is looking like this: North Pole marathon in April followed by the fling 2 weeks later (fling could be dependant upon delays etc from NP), WHW in June, Glenmore 24 in September. Just a light year then
Loch katrine entries will open on entry central on 30th December sometime mid- late morning. Also looking for marshals so if anyone fancies volunteering let me know.
I have a couple of blog entries ready to post for the volcano marathon, but am waiting on the relase of the official photos which be particulalrly slow Might just go a head ans post with the pictures Mr FFB took which are great except he did not catch me crossing the finish.
The WHW entry is being decided over the weekend - eek!
