That's great Billy - would be good to finally meet you after all our various past posts!
This race is only the week after Edinburgh Marathon but it was the same last year and it actually felt like a 'treat' to do a nice 10k after 26.2 miles! Looking forward to it!
I'm in again, 3rd consecutive year , one of my favourites! Glad that it's now possible to enter online but unfortunately hadn't realised that before I posted off entry form. I like the reassuring instant confirmation/receipt you get from online entry whereas there's always that uncertainty from postal entries until you receive the race pack.
Still - just checked and cheque was cashed 12th March it appears, so looks like postal entry received okay. Would hate to miss out on this one!
Now trying to persuade as many of my club as poss to enter it, so I think there will be a few of us again this year.
OMG - 2 thirds full already - it's only April!! I'm in for my 3rd year running and have chivvied rest of club to pull their fingers out and enter before it's too late too! Quite a few of us did it last year and all say they want to do it again.
Love this Half!!
Icemaiden - great to see you at Oakley 20 on Sunday (and you too Mick 'n' Phil!) and really well done on your time. Good luck for FLM, not long now!
I'm beginning to get back into it again after months of no training and heavy workload (panic about looming Edinburgh marathon has re-motivated me!), so my times are dire at the moment but am working now to get them back up again (which only means going from 'slow tortoise' to 'slightly less slow tortoise' in my case! ).
I was gutted to get the news too... but will look forward to it next year instead then.
My next up is something called the Brass Monkey Half Marathon (in York) - and have done shockingly little training for it, so that should be interesting . Just hoping all that racing and running I did up to the end of last year will carry me through. Won't be anywhere near a PB but as it's a flat course, that should help a bit!
Thanks GM - I was gutted that I felt so rough at the time as I love the Andy Reading 10k ... and the weather was ideal this year! Still enjoyed it though and that's down to the cheerful marshalls and slick organisation as always - will be back again next year and hopefully 100% well next time!
Not too long now until Wendover ... hope to see you there!
