I was wondering more if others enter there own races that any body can enter. I run most weeks and there is only one club Portsmouth Athletics club that have ever said I need to put my medical details down.
I was more interested in whether others run in races that are for any one not the disabled side of it.
I do get treatment but they are more concerned about walking and running is just an added bonus.
I think its the fact of being more conscious of not being able to jump up kerbs and move quickly in races that effects me more.
Is there any one else that tries to run with Cerebral Palsy. I am sure I cannot be alone. I am finding it more and more difficult to complete a race with out stopping. This really isn't the issue its more that I look fast, can run fast then all of a sudden slow right down with no warning. My right leg just does not kick forward. On occasions I have fallen over. Especially in races where going up and down kerbs is needed. I do ask now if I can stay on the road or off the kerb. I am sure marshall s think I am mad.
I then get comments from other runners telling me I should be at the front of races as I look fast.. if only I could stay fast.
I run a 8.30 mile at any time and at my worse it turns into a 16 min mile.
