I would encourage anyone to do this race - I did it last year and thought it was fantastic, and I plan to be doing it again next week. I carried a map but didn't use it, although I was unsure where I was at one stage but was quickly joined by another couple of runners. Hannah Lydiate - This took me 45 minutes more than a road marathon would, so if you are prepared for a tough and longer challenge I would say go for it. Compo 1 - I am also doing Chester, I will be using the Yorkshireman as my last long run and hoping to recover within a couple of weeks to be fresh for Chester. Keep on running, FTAT. |

We have just been invited to a wedding which means I cannot run this. If anyone wants a place please contact me (Colin) on 07910 348 136. At this late stage I am afraid it will have to be first come first served. |

Good luck everyone for tomorrow. We'll be heading down to abo later this morning. Anyone wondering about pacing, just go with what feels comfortable for the first 10 and then assess possible targets. This works for me. Just about managed to shift the sniffles, so it will be a steady start for me. The gun will have just gone this time tomorrow! FTAT |

Lawrence - sorry to hear that. Hope it recovers enough, but you probably should think again if not. Just got back from a steady ish 4 miles. Didn't look at my gps until I finished and then found it was mara pace! I would be really encouraged although I'm getting frustrated and annoyed at a persistant tickly throat following last week's cold. However, I'm off work tomorrow and planning 2 days of complete rest. Hopefully this will help it to finally clear as with the predicted weather I would be hoping for a pb, but would have to adjust my expectations if it doesn't clear. LG2 - hope your cold is continuing to get better. FTAT |
