Well, I ran a lap of the route yesterday. It's going to be a good'un, hardly any tarmac and it'll be interesting to see if the tracks (particularly the mile or so down to North Stoke) get muddier between now and then.
Definetely need to do lots of long runs with hills in over the next couple of months or that second lap will finish me off!
Just entered-got a flyer at the Hogweed Hilly Half yesterday. I sometimes do some training around Lansdown so I'm expecting a challenge. It's a nice place to run, but then I'm slow enough to take in the views!
I'd like to think so Chalky but then I'm a Hogweed so I am a bit biased!
Expect friendly marshalls and organisation, good value for money quiet country lanes, challenging hills and good refreashments at the end (I hope-I'm in the kitchen again!)
paypal claim has now been resolved in my favour but there is no money in the pegasus paypal account so they can't refund me anything but at least by complaining to paypal they can take sanctions againest this company.
Now I have to fill in a form from my credit card company and claim the money back via that route. They have assured me that I am covered so if you don't get your money back via paypal go to your credit card provider next.
This will be the first two day event we've tried but we did do some of the Midland Trailquest series of events last year.Supposed to be doing a TQ on sunday but I'm not sure how much effect the current weather will have.Could make it difficult to get to the event to start with!
We've managed to pick up a tent on ebay at a good price. It's a Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 so at about 1.6kg not the lightest we could have picked but a good compromise between space and weight and double skinned.Between the two of us should be OK to carry.Just need to sort out everything else now...
Hope your marathon training is going OK and you soon get over your injury. I did FLM last year but I'm looking forward to this MM much more than I looked forward to that. I'm doing the Forest of Dean Half in March after that it's time to start building up to some nice long trail runs!
