I have run over a 100 marathons, but the last few have been characterised by cramp-like pain in the quads after 18-20 miles which has forced me to slow my pace considerably.
I have done roughly the same amount of training, including long runs, and I don't feel tired at this point, so it's not like hitting the wall. The pain goes as soon as I stop running and is not evident afterwards.
Should I be drinking more or is there another solution, apart from a pain-killing injection?!
