If you can do 13 miles you should be able to do this one. Don't be frightened of the hills, there're not too steep. A bit of a drag from 5 miles to 7 1/2 miles but a fair bit of downhill to make up for it. What do others feel?
Any one thinking of entry on the day, we have plenty of places available and should be around 50 off the limit all told. Can entries on the day bring the correct change please. See you on Sunday all coming.
We have just about broke even at the moment. So entries on the day is our profit. Here's hoping we have a nice fine day on Sunday.
I hear you on the age categories. It does mean a lot more work and not sure if we would have runners in every 5 year category? We are not exactly a large race so a lot of effort for not mach gain? I'll have a word with my results man. He may tell me where to go! but worth an ask. I am worried how many more years he is going to do. Something for our race committee to discuss for a future year even as you say just indicate it in the results.
Ditto. on the South Downs Half. The second climb of Butser was in the back of my mind the whole way round, and man it was tough going up it again after 12 miles! I have contacted Ditcham School already to ensure there is no event clash.
We hire the local sports field at South Harting to park on with loads of room. There is a small risk that if there is heavy rain a few days before hand the field will out of bounds for cars. It's then verge parking and around the village.
Road shoes should be fine as most of the route is hard packed graval tracks and a few stretches of tarmac.
