I would love to do this Marathon but there is no way I will commit 3 months of my life training for this after all the mentioned problems.

The website still has no information or results of last Sundays race, it just seems to me the organisers have not read any feedback or are not interested in what has been wrote about this race. And if this is the case all these problems will remain for future events.

If the Shaws have been following this thread give us a sign, let us know your opinion on what's been said. I know most comments are quite negative but there's not one of us who wouldn't want a top class race in this area and would love to see the Newport Marathon turned into a raging success.

Damn, I wish I done this one. I perhaps could have bagged a sub 3hour and bragged to all those people none the wiser!!

How about San Domenico 20 is re-named the Merthyr Marathon and we can all get us some PBs beyond our wildest dreams. Look out London here we come!!!

Just looked at this race and probably asking a question that's been covered a number of times.Could this be a P.B course, nice and flat barring too much wind.

I've had a similar problem for 2-3 years, pain around my backside and hip and various parts down the back of my leg. I eventually got it checked out and was referred to a Spinal surgeon who after a MRI Scan diagnosed a prolapsed disc.

I underwent  facet joint and nerve block ending injections last June, this has seemed to cure or ease the problem and I've managed to train and run for 2 marathons this Autumn pain free.

My only problem now is my bum looks nothing like that....

Hello, my name is Chris Davies. I'm a 37year old ex rugby player, I could have played for Wales if it wasn't for a lack of talent, speed and basic rugby ability. I started running Two and Half Years ago in an attempt to fight off middleage and a longrunning bet that one day I would run a marathon. I've  missed out on the FLM three times via the ballot but despite this I got a place through a club entry in 2007. I have run 4 other Marathons my last being Loch Ness where I achieved a P.B 3hours 16mins.

I feel I have unfinished business at the FLM, my one and only attempt was hampered by illness and with the unseasonal hot weather that year the race turned into quite an ordeal. I've been told by so many people what a great event the FLM is and would love to experience this and to erradicate the bad memories of my last attempt.

My ultimate running goal is to break 3 hours, I feel I have a few good years on my side to achieve this and hopefully joining your team will help me on my way to meeting my ambition.

Predicted Time: 3hours 10mins.
