I'm arriving by train to Tring and getting a lift. The start is on Ivinghoe Beacon just outside Ivinghoe along the b489.  Looking at the map theres a NT car park just down the road.

Has anyone got Neil's ( race director )  mobile number just in case I get to Tring and there's no lift.

I'm no. 34.

Hellen ,   we'll have our overnight bags when we get to the finish.   My plan is to pack some wet wipes and change where i can.

The weather forecast is looking good for all 3 days.   It was looking a bit rough last week.

I might email the organizers to see how many people he has starting at 12.   Whilst starting at 12 would mean I don't have to hang around in Watlington waiting to get access to the college I don't want to be running on my own.

Looks good.   I would imagine its following the Capital Ring walking route as much as possible.    Has anyone seen a route map?   Is there a runable tow path all the way from Brentford to Wembley via the Brent?

The start is less than 2 miles from my house which is appealing.

I think you would have to go as far as Coventry to get on the northern approach to Tring.     National Rail says the journey takes about 2 1/2 hours and cost £31 if booked in advance.     I may end up begging my OH for a lift.

TMR - Neil's email said that the college wouldn't be available until 4pm.   I'm sure if you rock up a bit early it will not be a problem.

I still haven't figured out the logistics of how to get to and from the start.  I don't fancy getting the train from Swindon to Tring as the only way is to go to Paddington and then across town to Euston  and finally out to Tring.   I can't imagine I'll be in any state to trudge around with a heavy bag.
