Sorry to carp on such a wonderful occasion but I have to agree with some posters saying that starting the 10k at the same time and place was not ideal. It was pretty congested in the first 10k and I am sure I was not alone in wasting energy bobbing and weaving just to avoid bumping into other runners. Perhaps something could be done about this next time. Still seems churlish to complain, though.
Finally did Liverpool after years of moaning about the city not having a marathon. Shame it was my slowest ever time, 4:23. And conditions were perfect, too. Impressed with the organization and will definitely do it again. Haven't lived in Liverpool for 30 years but running past Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton stirred some deep childhood memories. I understand there was a fair degree of moaning about the traffic restrictions (miserable gits). Was sorry to see there was only a three and a half thousand turnout. Hope there's an improvement next year. Well done everybody.
Hi, Chris Oco. My sense of direction is deplorable so I would like to meet up with someone for a few practice runs as my shift work bars me from taking up Dr.Rob's generous offer of a practice run on 05/06/11. Could do this on 31/05/11, 02/06/11 or 09/06/11. Any good?
