Well done Sorequads that's a very impressive comeback race. Hope you haven't set the ITB recovery back.
Never monitored my calories - I lost a couple of kg recently mainly because I stopped having steak burgers & sausages every other day. Not really noticed any weight loss since going from 60-80 miles pw but I'm probably eating a lot more. I tend to graze almost continuously.
I've seen a lot of stuff on high fat low carb diets & some of it is pretty convincing for endurance athletes. Can't bring myself to switch though. Like Spoons I usually do my morning exercise pre-breakfast. This ought to help the fat-burning adaptations.
No racing for me this w/e apart from a poor parkrun effort. No surprise as I'd done my LT session the previous evening on the TM with a 2% incline 4K@7:26, 9K@6:26, 4K@7:26. Should have been next Tuesday on the plan but as I'm racing Sunday I figured it'd be better to get it out of the way earlier and give myself plenty of recovery. A steady HM today brings up 85M for the week.
Awesome mileage Spoons & great LR. If you can get to Brighton without any further industrial mishaps you're sure to smash that sub-3.
Likewise Tom. Cracking MP effort there.
Brilliant HM ML84. I feel your pain. Struggled through 10 miles of a 20M race a few years back with the same problem. Found a toilet & was instantly able to run a helluva lot quicker for the final 4M but couldn't quite catch my clubmate who'd got away from me after 10K but was fading badly at the end.
Did my own HM around the forest trails. Nice & steady with 1000ft of climb so 30 minutes slower than ML84. Brings me to 85 miles for the week which is a little higher than the 55-70 P&D plan
