Wow so much on the thread this week. Welcome London runner and KD
More great training from too many to mention. great stuff AL-P notice mammoth fast full distance run from you this weekend. Dachs fabulous 3000k so speedy. more massive training from pp so impressive

thats tough dan a hope you recover quickly what a big ballache
sorry probably missed loads and apologies but trying to be quick before wife gets in from work!
This week 6 easy monday and 6+5 tuesday felt bit tired after Sundays half and slightly tight right calf so took wednesday bad session bit easier. It was 25 mins MP 4x4mins with 2 mins recovery and 25 mins. However still went will first 25min averaged 5.57 mm and second 5.55, the miles add up with warm up/down totalled 17. Rest Thurs and calf back to normal, easy 10 friday, 6 with park run sat; notable for meeting marders at the start line....got the handshake in before he was outta sight. He smashed the course record on park run 181 in 14.38!!!!!! Incredible!!!!! Anyway I eventually came through in 16.40. 22 this morning was meant to be 2 mile wu 8 mile MP+20%, 8 mile MP+10% and 2 mile MP with 2 mile cool down. Pretty much to plan averaged 6.42mm (22.14m in 2.28)
August stats 298.2 miles ave 7.10 mm, most i've ever done. Biggest change is my easy runs are a lot slower thanks TR
cw hope the family crisis was nothing major and is all sorted now. nice 11m with heavy payload
Nice park running dan a good podium even if first was stolen for you; similar to al-p having his stolen by marigold the other week
More great work from Marigold congratulations on a brilliant run
Astonishing PP you are on such a run of form at the moment its unbelievable; can't wait to see where you go next
SL glad the health scare seems to be sorted nice speed and training
Jools top long run today 12 MP is some going and as you say in actual circumstances should be pretty easy to find those few seconds
SE nice half result just looked it up; great debut
So I decided to do a half marathon today as cut back week; had done 10 easy on friday and 5 yesterday so fairly well rested. Main aim was to banish the nightmare of new forest 10. Only my 4th HM and bit unsure what to aim for as really I wanted a confidence booster. Did Pewsey Vale half which is one of the few I've previously done, remembered it being pretty hilly; to put in context I did it last year in 1.21 then followed it up with 1.17 few weeks later. Don't think the undulations/hills are quite worth 4 minutes but definitely good for a couple. Started bit cautiously hoping to make about 5.54 mm average (sounds random but its 3.40/kms), was only me and one other guy hitching a ride behind me until 2 and half miles in. Felt good and decided to plough on and have to say have never felt better in a race, was waiting for the pain and it never came. Well marshalled course and beautiful day for running, great lead car and felt like a stroll for 1st in 1.15.54 (5.44mm) nearly 2 minutes ahead of 2nd and nearly 6 minutes quicker than last year! Only glitches were a very weirdly positioned drinks station on a sharp corner of a bend where an overenthusiastic helper run out in front of me trying to force water onto me (honestly I had to run at least an extra 20m's to try and circumvent her!) and that the course read 200m long (don't think it was uka approved). Really massively chuffed and the confidence boost I needed to push on..not in PP league but a good day at the office nonetheless (plus a nice trophy!)
Didn't do BAC session last night partly as cutback week and partly because it was first time in P and D where I could do some speedwork and first time I'd tried since injury; which showed in the random paces really. Session was 2mile warm up, 6x800m (2.36,2.35,2.24,2.35,2.36) off 200m 1k recovery then 5 mile MP (Average 5.51mm) and 2 mile cool down. HM in 1.22 and 13.2 mile total in 6.20 mm. Wicked pleased with all of it but I guess the random 800m in 2.24 shows what I should really be aiming for (ran past people I know making me speed up! ), fairly flat path around a cricket pitch so was nice. 5.50's felt comfortable all good at the moment
ON7 sounds like solid 16 banked in decent sub 3 pace
PP have to admit I'm not much of a cyclist but tempting given that pic; where in majorca is it...I'd be flying solo if I wanted to venture out on that
CW/bains heavy bumbag sounds hideous; never had a problem with a backpack as long as the straps will do up tight enough. Always do my long runs with at least 2-3kg backpack with phone/keys gels and water
TR sounds like rib ligament/muscle sprain bloody painful adn not much you can do don't want to be harbinger of doom but will probably take 6 weeks to settle. I did a rib on an assault course (stag do) last summer had to take 4 weeks completely off running
bains great km repeats; love those paces and good mix of training. glad the mojo is overflowing ps wife found my wedding ring at weekend...any luck with yours??
