Agree, brilliant event! I think after the success of today the event surely has to be a yearly event and I'm sure chip timing will be in place for next year! I seem to remember the organiser putting on Facebook that he didn't do chip timing this year as didn't know how the event would go down - think that's been answered - complete success!!!
Be prepared for something different though, the description of Grand National minus the horse is correct. Hay bales to jump/climb over, water jumps, a ditch to jump in and climb out the other side - it was great and i would recommend. I'll be there this year.
After the race last year the chap i parked next to was moaning about the obstacles and asked me what it was all about - clearly hadn't read the description of the race, which was a shame really as i felt the it all added to the enjoyment of the day. Great T shirts as well.
Yes def go to a running shop - i've never had black toe nails and only ever has 1 little blister!! I wouldn't put up with it as i am a bit of a whip when it comes to pain!! I've done up to marathon distance and lots of tri's without a problem
