Chrissi, sorry to hear that things are not good with you at the moment. Best wishes to you and yours.
All this TMW talk is making me wish I was joining you this year. I have enjoyed the experience the last two years and remember well the great support from Chrissi at her marshalling point last time.
JB the second half doesn't have anything quite a brutal as the hill at 10.5 miles but there is still plenty of climbing although some good long down hill sections to enjoy. To be honest, and this is just my opinion, I don't think the second half lives up to the first - tough act to follow. There is a bit too much looping back on yourself to make up the distance. They may have changed the route this year for all I know but will be interested to hear your thoughts next week.
For all those doing TMW have a great day and DON'T FORGET YOUR MIDGE SPRAY!
TR, the double was the week after SNOD last year - the Spooky and Pumpkin marathons. One in the morning and one late afternoon just as it got dark. Great races but the second one was a real tough slog.
Enjoy TMW JB and Brer. Really well organised race. Don't forget your insect repellent though!
That would be great TR. Hopefully not a saline drip in the medical tent! My personal worst is 5hr58 - second half of last years double which was a slog and a half. I would be over joyed to get under 6 at this one.
InsideForward, you and me both at the moment. I have struggled to match my training pace of last year. I have just decided to accept it and see how things improve (or not) over the summer - quite liberating in its own way.
Well done Brer, I see your pace isn't suffering!!
TR, I had forgotten about the cut off Looked at the results for last year and 150 of the 320 finishers took over 6 1/2 hours so as Brer says looked like they turned a blind eye to it. Think I will struggle to get in below that cut off especially if the weather is hot. Looking forward to it and hoping it will provide a much needed summer SNOD fix.
