Great race, great weather, fantastic scenery and well organised.  Its on the shortlist for next year. 4 minutes taken off the pb might be clouding my judgement of course!

I was entered, one of the DNS as I was drafted in to organise it in the end (I was the idiot who thought Ackworth was near York!)

I agree the HvC isan event not to miss and I have just added it to the Runners World events. I was pleased to get in under and hour this last year - bike just isn;t an option but you are right it does need to be a cyclo-cross bike.  For off road, have you tried our TTT weekend. It has been and gone this year but the details are on our site.  We are hosting the FRA relay at the same place in Kettlewell in October if you can find 3 friends to join you.  Entries are open now.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Richard, it is a short sharp shock of a race and the descent can be scary even for the locals. It's a great event especially when you don't have to pay to get into the show.  Hope to see you next year - and bring friends.
