Morning all. Glorious day Started the day awake at 5am, so got up and went for a nice walk before work.
Griff - good luck for Caerhpilly & Croydon ultra. That's my birthplace....is a big town these days!
MM61 - Thanks for kind words I'm lucky to still be fairly young, so know i'll always get back into racing, In fact, I cant live without running in some shape or form in my life. I do admire your determination, but remember you need to listen to your body & rest up from racing when you are carrying lots of niggles. Your wallet will thank you too. I think that's where the parkruns really come in handy - can turn up and race 5k if we are feeling fit on any weekend
How are you getting on at the new club? & all the best with the journey's this week!
NR - lovely summer food Agree - we appreciate our surroundings I think when able to get out & about and walk more.
I'm supporting a leg of the GB relay tonight in my car. Swansea prison to Baglan rugby club. Off to bed at 9pm and alarm set for 2.30am!!!
Caro - have had time to read a few of the recent posts through now & wanted to say I'm really sorry to hear of your news & my thoughts are with you. I hope today goes well and well done for keeping up the cycling. I hope your F in law is ok too. It must have been a difficult weekend for you, well done for getting through it.
I remember the fuss after I had Radiation treatment in January - work wouldnt have me anywhere near the office for 2 weeks!
Camlo - sorry to hear of your loss & hope you are ok.
The weekend marked a year of my mum's passing so it was a difficult time. My father is quite unwell (he has OCD which got a lot worse after she died) and is having numerous investigations for a bowel condition - likely IBD.
I've told my family my news as I felt it would be some positive news to focus on.
JT - hello from Swansea (I live near the M4).
Went to see the docs on Friday to ask for an earlier scan. Midwife was meant to be phoning me back at the weekend, but hey ho....no news yet. I may as well wait until my booked midwife appointment on 25th June. Thank you for the advice about this. It's quite a sensitive issue as I cant talk to many people about it.
Thank you again for making me feel welcome on here.
Just easy 3-4 mile runs for me the past few days. Enjoying taking life easier.
Thank you all for the very helpful replies - you are a fantastic group here
sonyaB - hope you enjoy final day of holiday! It's heating up in Wales today....heatwave by our standards
I agree already with the sentiment about the guilt factor, and I havent even given birth yet! It seems you are damned if you do, damned if you dont....I look forward to sharing advice on here.
I have one further questions regarding a refreshing drink in the summer. I'm not a fan of coffee (de-caff), dont really like squash or fizzy pop. Is there a nice summer (non-alcoholic) alternative people can recommend...have recently started buying Shloer which is quite nice, so something along these lines?? Are semi-skimmed flavoured milk drinks and smoothies ok?
Have a nice evening all & thanks again for the excellent advice.
